Prof. Diego Issicaba
received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Florianópolis, Brazil, in 2006 and 2008, respectively. Furthermore, he received the Ph.D. degree on Sustainable Energy Systems, under the MIT Doctoral Program, from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (UP), Porto, Portugal. In 2012, part of his research activities were held by the Post Graduate Programme in Computer Sciences, Faculty of Informatics (FACIN), from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), Porto Alegre, Brazil. From 2009 to 2013, he worked as a researcher for the Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering of Porto (INESC Porto), Porto, Portugal, on several projects funded by the European Union and by the Portuguese Industry. From 2013 to 2015, he developed R&D activities within Power Systems Group and Electrical Energy Systems Planning Laboratory, at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Florianópolis, Brazil. From 2015 to 2017, he worked as a Professor at the Federal University of Technology – Paraná (UTFPR). He is currently a Professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and the Leader of the Research Area on Energy and Manufacturing Systems of INESC P&D Brasil.
